Survey: Electric Vehicle Registration Penetration Rate in Hong Kong Nears 90%
With the global energy transition accelerating, Hong Kong is also reaching a new milestone in smart energy applications. Latest statistics show that in March this year, the electric vehicle registration penetration rate in Hong Kong reached nearly 90%, meaning that approximately 9 out of every 10 new cars sold are electric vehicles. However, limited urban space, strained power loads, and complex ownership structures mean that charging difficulties, high costs, and cross-border congestion continue to hinder the development of green transportation.
To address Hong Kong’s unique urban environment, Star Charge officially launched its “three-in-one” systematic solution encompassing “scenario, safety, and efficiency” at the “Mount Sumeru Conference • Hong Kong Dialogue.” This solution breaks away from traditional hardware deployment thinking, adopting an integrated approach of “hardware + software + services” to tailor a comprehensively upgraded infrastructure and cross-border services for Hong Kong.
