Transport Department reported receiving over 13,000 applications for electric vehicle swaps in March, with 85% processed.

The “One-for-One” tax relief scheme for first-time registration of electric private vehicles will not be continued after its expiration on March 31. The Transport Department stated that it received approximately 13,500 applications for the scheme in March, more than three times the previous monthly average.

The Transport Department indicated that it has immediately deployed additional staff and extended working hours to process applications in the order they are received, and is rigorously verifying them. As of the end of April, the department had processed approximately 85% of the applications, with the remaining applications, mainly submitted in late March, expected to be completed by mid-May.
