HK government tender out land in Kwun Tong for high-speed EV charging station with retail area larger than traditional gas stations.
The government has announced a public tender for the sale of New Kowloon Inland Lot No. 6677, located at 77 and 79 Hiu Kwong Street, Kwun Tong, for use as a high-speed charging station for electric vehicles. The tender closes on July 10th this year.
A spokesperson for the Environment and Ecology Bureau stated that the government released an updated version of the “Hong Kong Electric Vehicle Popularization Roadmap” in February this year, updating the strategies and measures adopted by the government to promote the popularization of electric vehicles. This includes continuing to leverage market forces through a multi-pronged approach and policy-guided construction of a public charging network with high-speed charging stations as its backbone to comprehensively support the application of electric vehicles in Hong Kong.
