Visiting BYD Shenzhen

On June 26th, a delegation of members and guests from the Hong Kong Electric Vehicle Industry Association visited BYD in Shenzhen. The visit was rich in content and full of highlights, giving everyone a deeper understanding of this giant corporation and filling them with hope for the future development of new energy vehicles.

Upon entering the venue, they were greeted by several top-of-the-line BYD electric vehicle models, including the legendary “U8L”. Of course, a group photo was the first thing to do upon entering!

A courteous guide introduced the guests to BYD’s business, history, and management philosophy, which the guests listened attentively to.

They toured BYD’s latest electric vehicle core technologies and several new electric vehicle models, a truly eye-opening experience.

They visited the “SkyShuttle” electric transportation system, and in the afternoon, they even had the opportunity to test ride in a real vehicle.

Unexpectedly impressive demonstrations included: a fast-charging system that operated flawlessly even at -30 degrees Celsius; and a demonstration of the needle penetration test comparing BYD’s Blade Battery to traditional ternary lithium batteries, showcasing the superior safety of the Blade Battery.

Besides manufacturing electric vehicles, BYD boasts a range of related technological advantages, including high-precision 3D modeling and engraving technology, patented battery technology, and energy storage technology. Some of its technologies are even used as OEM manufacturers for several well-known international brands.

The exquisite Chinese lunch prepared by BYD for visiting guests, coupled with a comfortable and spacious environment, made for a truly commendable dining experience!

Seeing is believing. BYD’s “flash charging” is indeed impressive. On certain supported models, just 5 minutes of charging can add approximately 400 kilometers of range. Fully charging the battery in the time it takes to fill a gas tank is no longer a dream!

Unexpectedly, the first floor of the concierge building is actually the “SkyShuttle” station. This SkyShuttle experience provided a perfect ending to the visit.
